The Town of Boxford is a residential community in Essex County, approximately 25 miles north of Boston. The town is primarily rural in nature, and this character has been maintained by a minimum lot size of 2 acres, which has been unchanged since 1949. There are two Congregational Churches in Boxford, which is the second largest town in the county. The Boxford Athletic Association manages several ball fields and a large swimming pond in the summer for children of all ages.

The many trails running through the town make it popular with hikers and horse lovers, including 12 miles along the Bay Circuit Trail.   The town includes two unique town centers, each featuring a library, general store and war memorial.  Below is the Boxford Community Store located in East Boxford.  It serves as a cafe, store, post office and houses several businesses on its second floor.

The newest addition to town properties is the recently completed Boxford Town Hall.  All town offices, meeting areas and tax collection are maintained here.

Boxford manages two town libraries and offers many cultural activities including the Boxford Arts and recreation Foundation,  the Boxford Trail Association & Open Land Trust and many equestrian trails.  Boxford is also home to Windrush Farm, a nonprofit working horse farm of therapeutic challenge for the disabled.
